Flooded Basement Solutions
A flooded basement seems to be a write of passage for homeowners. It happened to me a few months back at the end of the summer. We had humongous rain fall in the area and the drains backed up, my sump pump went out, and the basement flooded a good two feet deep.
I remember walking down into that basement with my pants rolled up to my knees and no socks on. The water was dark and dirty. What a mess. Fortunately for us, our basement was unfinished so the water could not damage much, but our personal belongings took a beating. Lost my treadmill in that madness, it was unfortunate.
Flooded Basement Solutions
The best solution to a flooded basement I can give you is to check the sump pump. Turns out that mine went out, but it wasn’t because of the motor. It was because of the GFI unit that it was plugged into. I guess the circuit was over loading, so the GFI turned the unit off. This shut my sump pump off and the water flooded my basement.
The solution to your flooded basement might just be something as simple as the GFI unit and flipping the switch to ensure your sump pump remains working.
